Waterways are the veins that bring life to the land. The spectacular Howe Sound is a deep-water fjord that flows to the Pacific via the Strait of Georgia. Flanked by jagged mountain peaks, ancient glaciers and dotted with islands the Howe Sound is a paradise popular for sea kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, fishing, kiteboarding and, more recently, wildlife spotting.
The unforgettable turquoise water of the Howe Sound (most vibrant in the spring and fall) is caused by glacial flour that runs down the mountainsides via the valley’s many waterfalls. Just a few of the sights along the way include Mount Garibaldi, the Squamish Spit, the Defence Islands, Anvil Island, Shannon Falls, the Tantalus Range, Gambier Island and the mighty Stawamus Chief. We’re passionate about the Howe Sound, its restoration and the diverse marine and terrestrial ecosystem it supports in Squamish, BC.
Our pilots are passionate about British Columbia, Squamish, Whistler, Vancouver and the Sea To Sky Corridor. They love sharing what they know about the region’s legendary geology and history so we outfitted every seat with a two-way headset and microphone. Think of us like your best friend taking you on a road trip to all their favourite places. Listen to your pilot tell stories as you fly, ask questions about features and landmarks, or simply sit back and enjoy the view.
All flights seat up to four people (three guests and one pilot).
Book a flight for two people and you have the option to buy the third seat at a reduced rate to reserve the aircraft exclusively for you. This is one of our most popular options. Perfect if you’re buying the Howe Sound Fjord & Coast by Seaplane as a gift for a birthday or special occasion.
Between 1904 to 1974 Britannia Mine was one of the largest copper mines in the world. The township was home to over 60,000 people. As the mine grew, toxic acid rock drainage polluted the Howe Sound decimating marine wildlife. In 1998 a rehabilitation plan was put in place. Thanks to a dedicated Squamish community and a colossal clean up effort previously lost marine wildlife has started to return to the fjord.
Howe Sound is a deep water fjord fed by the Squamish River that leads to the Pacific Ocean. It lays within the traditional territory of the Coast Salish First Nations and is now home to thousands of marine species including orca, humpback whales, and sea lions so keep your eyes peeled. A Fjord is an ancient river valley that was widened and deepened by glacial ice over millennia, making it a very exciting landscape to fly through in a small seaplane.
